Johar Ali Khan is the son & disciple of late Ustad Gohar Ali Khan, one of the greatest violin genuises. Johar Ali Khan belongs to the famous Rampur & Patiala Gharana. His grandfather was the illustrious Ustad Ali Baksh, the founder of Patiala Gharana which has produced a number of great classical artist like Ustad Fateh Ali, Ustad Amanat, Hamid Ali etc.

All the four brothers of Johar Ali are music artist. Ajmal Ali is Tabla player, Nazakat Ali is Music Composer, Nadeem Ali is Singer and Asif Ali besides being a Tabla player is a Singer too.
